In this project you will create a movie in which letters "rain down" from the sky. See the example at the bottom of this page. (1) Type your text. Select a word that has between 5 and 10 letters. Position your text at the bottom of the stage. (2) Break apart once. CTRL-B. Note: only break apart ONE time. (3) Modify>Distribute to Layers Optional Step (4) You can delete Layer 1. Use trash can. Optional Step (5) If you'd like each letter to have a border, do it now. (6) Select keyframe 1 in each layer and press F8 (Convert to Symbol) ( (8) Insert a keyframe randomly in each layer (F6). (9) Right click>"Create Motion Tweens" on each layer. (10) Select the first keyframe in Layer 1. SHIFT+up arrow to move letter above the stage. Try and move each letter to about the same position above the stage. Repeat for each layer. (11) Pick a frame that's beyond all keyframes. Add a frame (F5) in each layer. I added the frame at 35.
(12) CTRL+enter and enjoy the rain. Optional Step (13) Window>Common Libraries>Sounds. Select the keyframe at the end the tween for each layer and drag the sound to the stage. Repeat for each layer. Optional Step (14) Select the keyframe at the end of the tween for each layer. Press F6 twice. Now you have three consecutive keyframes. Select the middle of the three keyframes. Press the up arrow three times. Now each letter will have a little bounce when it hits. |
