You've probably noticed that it was easy to add a border to text in Fireworks, but doesn't seem possible in Flash. It's not SIMPLE in Flash, but it is possible.
(1) Type your text in a keyframe. Break it apart. CTRL+B CTRL+B
(2) Delselect your text. Using the black pointer arrow, click anywere in the empty part of the stage.
(3) Use the ink bottle tool 
to add the border to each letter
(4) Click frame 1
(5) Click Insert, Convert to symbol, ok
(6) Move the text offstage left
(7) Add a keyframe at 30
(8) Move text offstage right
(9) Right click frame 5, add motion tween
(10) Done! Save with the name Text Border. Then press CTRL+Enter to create the Silver movie file.
