Resume

What:
You will write a resume that will give potential employers a quick idea of your skills and abilities.  The resume may include such headings as:

  • Career Objective
  • Work History
  • Academics
  • Awards & Achievements
  • Clubs & Extracurricular
  • Hobbies
  • References

Do not type a heading if it doesn't apply to you.  The above listed headings are just suggestions.

Why:
To continue giving you practice in MS Word.  This document might be something that will help get you a job. Working on this assignment should help you begin to think about career issues and your level of employability.

How:
I want you to use either a table or columns to lay out the resume. You may use one of Word's resume templates.

Worth:
15 points - 10 points for content, 5 points for look.

Here's some example resumes.  I don't think any of them look particularly nice, but they do represent how to list some different kinds of information on a resume.

Sample 1    Sample 2    Sample 3
Sample 4     Sample 5    Sample 6

A table that looks about like this will work well for most resumes.  You can center your name, address and phone number in the top cell.

Along the left side you can type in your Headings.

Down the right side you can type in your details.
