Pan and Zoom 2

Demonstrate you knowledge of shot framing & basic computer editing.


Learn to show motion in your shots. Each group member needs to capture good examples of the following shots.

  • Slow pan of Sexton High School
    • Make sure the pan is nice and even
  • Slow zoom in on Sexton (pick a spot like front doors, clock tower, etc).
    • Maintain consistent zoom speed.
  • Slow zoom out of Sexton (pick a spot like front doors, clock tower, etc.)
    • Maintain consistent zoom speed.
  • Maintain LS of person walking - 15 seconds
    • Make sure to take leadroom into account
  • Slow zoom in of person - zoom in from a MS to a CU
    • Make sure to take headroom into account
  • Slow zoom out of person - zoom out from CU to LS
    • Make sure to take headroom into account

Note: Make sure to take headroom & leadroom into account.

Use editing software to create a video that shows good examples these shot types. Each member shows each shot. Each member edits own shots. Use the following graphics:

  • Corner graphic that identifies the shooter over all of the shooter's shots.
  • Corner graphic that overlays each shot type
