HyperDictionary

The purpose of this project is twofold:  (1) Learn some computer terminology (2) Learn Word skills like hyper linking, bookmarks and tables & borders.

(1) Copy the terms below. Paste them into a new Word document.

(2) Put the words into a table

(3) Click below the table. Insert>Break

(4) View>Print Layout

(5) On the new page. Paste the list of terms again. Press enter 5 times between each term.

(6) Use Google to find definitions. In the Google search bar type define: URL.

(7) Scan through the definitions that Google finds for you. Pick the best one and read it. Then copy & paste the definition into your Word document.

(8) Format the vocabulary word different from the definition. Use two different fonts (or font sizes) and use two different colors. Use the Format Painter ( ) to format many at once like I'll show you in class.

Here's an example for some formatted text.

(8) Insert a bookmark in in front of each nicely formatted vocabulary word.

(10) Make each term in the table at the top of your document a hyperlink to the bookmark next to the definition.

(11) Use Photopea or Cooltext.com to make a nice header that says HyperDictionary. Place this header at the very top of your document.

(12) Make your table at the top have a colorful border sized 3.
