Aligning Objects Using Tables

Important table information before we begin:

The merge button will join selected cells together

Using the split button you can divide a cell into rows or columns.

The Vertical alignment button controls whether the cell contents will be aligned to the Top, Middle or Bottom of a cell.

Your task: Recreate this document

 

Here's how:

(1) Dreamweaver. In files area right click, new file, align.htm

(2) Right click each picture below, Save Picture As, into your web folder.

(3) On your align.htm page, create a table: 5 rows, 3 columns

(4) Add the pictures and words "The American Revolution" into row one.

(5) Merge all three cells of row 2. This row is just a spacer.

(6) Merge the left two cells of row 3. Add data.

(7) Merge the right two cells of row 4. Add data.

(8) Merge the left two cells of row 5. Add data.

(9) Shade the table cells blue as seen in the example.

(10) Adjust picture sizes as seen in example.

(11) Save.

(12) Open your project page. Type the name of this assignment. Link it to the file align.htm
